Expanding Opportunities for South Shore's Community

The Array Innovation Exchange project is a forward-thinking initiative dedicated to fostering urban sustainability, economic empowerment, and social equity in South Shore through a multifaceted technology-driven platform. This project aims to provide the community with diverse opportunities in business, technology, agriculture, arts, manufacturing, health, and dining, ultimately contributing to a thriving and vibrant neighborhood.
To create sustainable wealth for the South Shore community, the 25,000 square foot Startup Incubator and Accelerator space will offer classrooms, meeting rooms, shared office spaces, and private offices. This facility will host classes, workshops, and programming from partners like Ignite Technologies, Blue Lacuna, 1871, TechStars, and Jane Addams Resource Center to empower aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs, leading to increased local business growth.
The rooftop greenhouse and indoor vertical farm, covering 3,300 and 23,000 square feet respectively, will offer sustainable and aesthetically pleasing spaces for learning agriculture cultivation and maintenance. The greenhouse, located beside the restaurant space, will grow crops used by chefs at The Duæl, fostering a farm-to-table dining experience.
The 5,000 square foot Digital Media Studios will feature a sound stage for filmmaking and television production, podcast studio, recording studio, and digital media lab with cutting-edge equipment and software. This facility aims to break down financial barriers for aspiring artists and creators, allowing them to explore new hobbies or seriously pursue their dreams.
The Makerspace and Fabrication Lab will provide training in welding, assembly, and prototyping for high-demand jobs with competitive wages. Local partners JARC and mHub will teach interested individuals how to use various tools and equipment. Prototyping services will also be available, helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life with tangible products.
The 4,000 square foot Mental & Physical Health Center will offer a range of health and wellness services through partners Sanctuary Health and Self-Mind, as well as a fitness center, basketball court/gymnasium, yoga/meditation studio, and sensory deprivation float tanks. This space will foster holistic healing and personal growth for community members.
The Duæl is a unique rooftop dining experience featuring a double kitchen for two local, early-growth restaurants in a 4-month residency. This friendly competition will culminate in a community-judged tasting event, with new restaurants rotating in afterward. The Duæl will provide an environmentally efficient farm-to-table experience, with produce sourced from the adjacent greenhouse and vertical garden.
The Roastery, Momentum @ AIE is a dual coffee shop and roastery, offering a cozy sit-down cafΓ© experience and a patio area during summer months. This facility will teach AIE members about every aspect of the coffee shop business, from roasting beans to running the front of the house. Mentors will also offer support for those interested in opening their own franchises, demonstrating the innovative thinking and value maximization that Urban Array brings to every venture.
By providing diverse opportunities and resources, the Array Innovation Exchange Project aims to empower the South Shore community and drive sustainable growth and development for its citizens.
